Adding functional art with The Brewmaster and The Old Havana

Two homes recently featured on and designed by Jeff Murphy, of Murphy & Co. Design, include Fanimation fans. The Brewmaster found a place in Murphy’s home, while The Old Havana made its way onto the screened in porch of the Harrington Road Residence.

“I love your products, they are really creative fans,” said Murphy in a recent interview with Fanimation. “This was the perfect spot to put The Brewmaster on display. It has an old look, it’s a great design and seems more like a piece of art.”

One of the most difficult issues Murphy faced when designing this area was the amount of space, but he felt like he got a lot of functional space in a small area.

Now looking at The Old Havana, Murphy decided to put two in the screened in porch of the Harrington Road Residence. His main goal was to create good air circulation for the porch.

“The interesting design of the fan added a unique feature to the room and made a statement,” Murphy added. “The style of the house is Old French Country, and there is a lot of openness to the room.”

The best part  about designing this room was how it felt when it was done. There are great views from all sides of the room, according to Murphy.

More about the Designer:

Murphy grew up with a love to draw and a love for houses and this led him to his career in design. He went to college in San Diego and finished his degree in Minneapolis. Following which, he started working at a residential design firm. Finally, in 2003 Murphy decided to start his own company.

Murphy’s style focuses on traditional architecture and timeless designs. “My philosophy is to listen to the customers to figure out what they want and create something that will stand the test of time,” Murphy said. “I bring style to the 21st century.”
